International news often portrays Colombia as a country of drug lords, violence, and corruption. This is a concern for foreigners, which is why I decided to write about these issues that have occasionally prevented investors from other countries from coming to our country.

What do I think about drugs, violence, and corruption in Colombia? What do you think? Are these real problems, or are they challenges that societies must face and combat?

I was born in Colombia in 1982 and am aware that our country has gained a bad reputation. Despite this, we have successfully run our business, Globalgaap, with a team of 30 people who support companies from around the world that do business in Colombia.

Time and again, I believe there are ways to navigate these situations and do business in a country with 49 million people, located just two hours away from neighboring countries in Central America, South America, and the United States. If you travel to Europe, you can be at the airport at 8 pm and arrive in Munich or Amsterdam the next morning. Colombia is a place to enjoy, learn, and do business successfully.
